Engagement Manager/Senior Engagement Manager

Winterberry Group is seeking a engagement manager/senior engagement manager to lead projects supporting our growth strategy, operational design, mergers & acquisitions and market intelligence assignments.

Job Description

As an engagement manager at Winterberry Group, you will serve as a project lead supporting our growth strategy, operational design, mergers & acquisitions and market intelligence assignments—interfacing with senior client stakeholders (C-suite leaders) to determine business requirements, outlining preliminary conclusions and overseeing projects teams in the creation of sophisticated written deliverables. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of complex client engagements—managing supporting workflows, the development of client-ready deliverables and delegation of responsibilities to junior team members. Engagement-related responsibilities will span various disciplines, including:
    • Qualitative Research & Analysis: leverage various research and analysis methodologies, including primary stakeholder interviews, surveys, third-party/desk research, competitive and marketplace mapping, etc.
    • Quantitative Research & Analysis: support market segmentation, sizing and modeling efforts—helping clients better understand addressable opportunities and financial costs/benefits associated with potential investment scenarios
    • Strategic Facilitation & Road mapping: contribute to the facilitation of strategic workshops and the architecture of “future-state” client roadmaps (based on the identification and assessment of diverse growth opportunities)
    • Commercial Diligence & M&A Target Identification/Qualification: assemble in-depth, comprehensive analyses of market sectors and corresponding acquisition candidate companies; identify and qualify M&A target companies to support clients’ acquisition strategies
  • Identify/articulate key insights; develop narrative content geared to communicating key findings and helping clients best understand/activate supporting recommendations
  • Mentor and train junior consulting professionals; play an active role in the Firm’s staff development, training/education, and community engagement efforts
  • Support the Firm’s business development efforts through development of pitch materials, statements of work, and preliminary engagement workplans
  • Collaborate in the development of thought leadership and other published content—including white papers, conference presentations, webinars, and other media; and
  • Support multiple simultaneous engagements, working with colleagues to ensure outstanding delivery.

Qualifications

  • 6-10+ post-graduate experience with at preferable 5-7 in strategy consulting. (Placement into a specific role to be determined based upon experience and other qualifications)
  • Strong process and program management skills
  • Strong facility leveraging both quantitative and qualitative research in the development of detailed recommendations, analyses, and professional deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with executive-level client stakeholders as primary point of contact/engagement lead
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience crafting sophisticated narrative content to explain complex themes/conclusions
  • Experience with quantitative analysis, ideally focused on market sizing and/or analysis of corporate financial performance
  • Management experience (or significant program leadership and resource coordination experience)
  • Comfort operating in variety of structured and unstructured environments—with a commitment to continuous innovation
  • Experience within the advertising, marketing, technology, data and/or analytics sectors a strong plus, but not required.
  • Applicants must have completed their undergraduate or graduate studies; individuals currently enrolled in a degree program are not eligible.

Compensation & Benefits

The total compensation range for this position is: $135k-$250k.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
